Top Duties & Responsibilities as an Analyst in M&A Advisory

As an Analyst in the M&A Advisory team, you will work on both the origination and execution of M&A related transactions such as public-to-private transactions, leveraged buy-outs, mergers, de-mergers and acquisitions. You will be an integral part of several deal teams at a time and will be involved in all stages of a transaction from initial pitch to closing. Your contribution will vary per transaction and will comprise amongst others: conducting valuations and other financial analyses, performing industry and company analyses, preparing presentations to clients, writing information memoranda, and coordinating and performing due diligence. You will work closely with your team members, with professionals from other parts of the bank as well as with client representatives and external advisors.

The purpose of the job is to swiftly learn about all aspects of the investment process, and to provide the analytical foundation at each stage. You will gain experience in analyses of sectors, companies and financial statements that will prove invaluable during the rest of your career. Meetings with management teams, industry experts, investment and financing firms and colleagues in other areas of NIBC will serve as the basis for such analyses.

Being a full member of the investment teams, the responsibilities consist of analysing investment opportunities, assessing business cases, managing due diligence processes, constructing financing models and evaluating realisation opportunities. The Analysts have an active role in supporting portfolio companies and preparing reports on their activities and results.
