Specialised Finance combines our expertise in specific asset classes with our balance sheet and capital markets capabilities to provide solutions to our clients. We focus on asset and project financing in the segments, shipping, oil & gas, infrastructure & renewables and commercial real estate. Our retail activities in residential mortgages and retail savings (via NIBC Direct) are also part of Specialised Finance. Specialised Finance is home to the following teams:

Shipping

Ship financing for shipping companies and investors worldwide.

Oil & Gas services

Asset and project financing for corporate clients and investors in the oil & gas services industry worldwide.

Infrastructure & Renewables

Infrastructure & renewables financing in North West Europe. NIBC has a strong track record in financing schools, roads and hospitals and in wind, biomass and waste-to-energy projects.

Commercial Real Estate

Commercial real estate financing in the Netherlands and Germany. Project and asset financing is primarily focused on offices, retail and residential
 

Structuring
The structuring team is the liaison between the origination and distribution teams. It is responsible for structuring highly sophisticated transactions for clients as well as securitisation transactions, fund structuring and tax structuring.
The structuring team works closely together with the Merchant Banking teams and the Specialised Finance teams to detect client needs and to offer what the markets demand. The team also cooperates very closely with Treasury to satisfy the bank's funding needs.
The team deploys various risk transfer techniques (including securitisation, syndication and credit derivative technology) to manage our portfolios. We structure individual (large) loans and portfolios comprising of more loans into risk participations that can be transferred to a broad range of investors.

Distribution
The distribution team is the integrated distribution platform of NIBC. It coordinates all distribution activities and combines investor appetite with our origination network and structuring capabilities. It focuses on the distribution of loans, structured products and funds.

Retail Markets
Our retail markets activities are focused on residential mortgage origination in the Netherlands and Germany. Origination takes place on the basis of white labeling through a number of distribution partners, such as insurance companies, mortgage chains and packagers.
